I make custom mugs to order, taking a minimum of 5 weeks. Pottery is a long process which includes throwing, drying, trimming, adding handles, refining, decorating, drying for a week, bisque firing for 24 hours, glazing, then firing again for a further 24 hours. So this is not quick!
Custom orders will be made using flecked clay and black underglaze for the sgraffito (scratched) surface decoration. I can decorate with any animal you like but there is a limit to how much detail looks good once the mug has been fired. Too much detail and the image becomes unclear! Dogs etc are great but human portraits do not work very well.
